I'm a multidisciplinary visual storyteller with an interest in what's happening in the world and especially Arctic affairs. I started my career at the Finnish broadcasting company Yle, where I worked as a graphic and motion designer for various departments for 6 years. Currently I'm working as a graphic designer at Hufvudstadsbladet newspaper and as a part timed Art Director for The Ulkopolitist foreign policy online magazine. In addition to these, I do smaller projects on the side from time to time. The summer of 2025 I was on a work exchange at The Barents Observer in Kirkenes, Norway.
Stylewise I love the handmade grittiness of collages, but experiment regularly with everything between clean motion design and photorealistic artwork. I wrote my Master's thesis on the topic of journalistic photomontages. I'm also really into maps and take every opportunity I can to collect old ones for inspiration. Regardless whether the work is editorial or commercial, I always follow a journalistic ethic.
While I like to be hands on pushing pixels, I enjoy the research and data-analysis part of the work as well. I'm happy to share my knowledge in classes and workshops. My toolkit includes graphic and motion design in its various forms, illustration, photography, GIS and even text.
